I am looking for guidance on the best way to accomplish something like this:

Allow windows service to manage rotation of 2 + (many) usb drives for backup using ViceVersa Pro.
Establish predictable daily drive swap window.
Disable backup for swap window (scheduled eg 11:00 am through 1:00 pm daily)
Eject USB drive at beginning of swap window time.
Confirm swap and verify Mount and drive letter at end of swap window time.
Confirm new drive and make sure drive letter matches.
Send notification to email address if SWAP was not done.
"Backup Drive Swap not detected. Please remember to swap next time."
Continue ViceVersa scheduled updates to connected USB drive.

Ideally all of this can be done using a system service without a specific user logged into the system.

Hi, try using the disk serial number in the ViceVersa profile instead of the drive letter. (see folder variables in help file)

<serial:XXXXXXXX> It expands to the drive letter assigned to the drive with serial XXXXXXXX. For example, <serial:A2FF003E>:\FolderA\ expands to X:\FolderA\ if the drive letter assigned to the drive with serial number 'A2FF003E' is 'X'.
Please note: this variable can't be used with the tracking database or the synchronization method.

Then in VVEngine ( http://www.tgrmn.com/web/vvengine/vvengine.htm ) setup as many file replication profiles as drives using their serial. Now you can replicate to each drive if inserted, also have the, all inserted at the same time and do not have to have a swap window.

Would that work?
