Hi

My main computer is networked desktop(Win XP). I would like to mark files/directories for sync to USB mem stick. I would then like to keep USB mem stick handy for editing files at home (Win XP or Linux) when needed. Is this the sort of senario that ViceVersa can be used for?

Yes, that is one of the way you can use VV. Most convenient is if all files / folders you need to keep in sync are in one or two folders, this makes things much easier to handle.
