**Step-by-step**

1. **Open the profile you want to configure**

* In ViceVersa load the profile (File -> Load Profile or open it from the main window).

2. **Open Profile Settings**

* Click Profile Settings (in the main window or comparison window) or choose File -> Profile Settings.

3. **Go to the Execution section**

* Select the Execution group/tab where execution and logging options are located.

4. **Enable logging and choose the log file**

* Turn Logging ON.
* Enter a Log File path or click Select File to pick a file. You may use variables (e.g. <year>, <month>, <day>, <dayofweek>) in the name/path.

5. **(Optional) Configure log details**

* Max Size: set a maximum size for log files.
* Empty log file each run: check if you want the log file cleared at each run.
* Log only summary and errors: reduces the amount written to the log.
* Log comparison status to CSV: enables exporting comparison status to CSV files; the files will be named <logname>.start.status.csv (before run) and <logname>.end.status.csv (after run).

6. **Save the profile**

* Click OK/Save in Profile Settings and then save the profile (File -> Save Profile or Save Profile As) so the logging settings are preserved.

**Notes**

* Logging is per-profile. Turn it off by disabling Logging in the same place.
* If you schedule the profile (VVEngine, VVScheduler, VVLauncher), logs will be created when the profile runs under that scheduler, subject to the same log path/settings.
