FTP issues
(1) When upload the file(s), the timestamp of file will be changed to upload time of server.
- Some FTP server (ex, VSFTPD, SERVE_U) can change the filedate in server using MDTM command.
(2) No full date/time information in file list, can't display the full file date/time with LIST command of FTP.
- MDLS function is added to get full file information, but only some server can support this function.
*** To enable the filesync, FTPD should be support MDTM(put)/MDLS functions.
*** I've using Pure-FTPD(modified to support MDTM) under LinkStation I (Firmware is modified to Debian).
ViceVersa Issue
This software can't support FTP, so we need the extra software such as WebDrive from South River Technologies. this software can support the network drive using FTP. and MDTM/MDLS functions.
Timezone Issue
When upload and setup the filedate using MDTM command, the Filedate is setup by Local Time Stamp.
But, when listing by MDLS, filedate is listed by UTC.
So, filetime & date is not mached.
However, the trouble of timezone issue will not solved in WinXP and Linux System whille using the mixed timezone system.
///// Solve the problems
Modification of Pure-FTPD
(1) MDLS function
-> Modify to return the local time (default gmtime).
(2) MDTM function
-> Modify to support to change the file date & time
Change the software of FTP Server
(1) I'm a user of LinkStation I(buffalo). I've changed OS to Debian.
and Install the pure-ftpd (modified)
Install WebDrive (Drive <-> FTP Interface)
(1) MDTM, MDLS Function Setup
Change the local time of my computer
(1) Setup to GMT-0, No summer time correcting
Using the ViceVersa Pro
*** Completely sync between FTP and Your Computer.
Known issues.
