ViceVersa is an excellent, robust sync product, easy to set up and use and filled with well thought-out features. During evaluation with several users and after purchase of multiple licenses, I have a few suggestions for interface improvement targeted towards ordinary (non-IT staff) end-users, specifically involving the Profiles (everything else is just about perfect!):
1. Direct selection of a profile from a list or toolbar on the basic UI - not from a "File, Load Profile" menu item. The connection between a profile job (and what it will do) and the raw filename is not immediately obvious to an end-user.
2. Allow the user to enter a description of the profile when saving it. This description could be displayed as a pop-up while selecting the profile from a list or toolbar.
3, If a profile is displayed and selected in the "Sources and Targets" window of the basic UI, clicking the [Remove] button immediately rewrites the .fsf file to remove the paths, but the file still exists. I would suggest that an [OK/Cancel] warning be displayed before the path deletion. Users are confused when an accidentally or deliberately removed profile still appears in the File, Load list, can be selected, but doesn't show up in Sources and Targets. Also, if the path is wiped out, the user may not remember how to recreate the profile, or worse, recreates it in a way that damages their current sync folders when run.
Thanks,

Thank you, this is great feedback. We are always looking into new ways to make the UI simpler for ordinary end users.

Point 1 and 2: very good suggestions. It would be good to have a description of the profiles and an easier selection of the profiles, maybe using the profile description itself. As a possible solution for now I suggest to use the profile name which does allow spaces and up to approx 200 characters; if possible in your infrastructure and setup!

Point 3: yes, there is no confirmation now when removing a source/target pair in a multi-folder configuration. I have added this as a future improvement. Note that ViceVersa does not write the fsf file until Save is selected. So if the user deletes the pair and does not save the profile, the profile is not saved and next time is loaded the old settings are loaded. It is correct that a profile can currently only be completely deleted (file removed) from outside ViceVersa.
