Hi,

I've am a user of VV for many years. I'm just having a look at VVPro6 and there is one thing I don't understand at all: why is folder navigator a separate view? It would be far more useful to have it integrated into the main compare view. I have been waiting for this for years - - this is by far the thing I find most frustrating to use about VV: the inability to see a folder view rather than just an endless list of files and no way to easily see a collapsed view (like the new but inexplicably separate folder navigator) which can be expanded as needed and see the actual files in it. I use ChronoSync on a Mac and that view is what VV is sorely lacking - have a look at ChronoSync, or the many others who all have done something similar. Please can you integrate the folder view into the main compare window?? I was so disappointed to see it done in a separate window, and I really can't understand that design decision.

Thanks,
Mark.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for your feedback! The main reason is to optimize the view and scrolling in terms of speed and amount of files to show, ViceVersa can support several million files in the list by separating the side-by-side view and the folder navigator.

Thanks, but as a user I can say the current file listing is by far the biggest weakness in VV, especially when there is a lot of files. It's completely impossible to get an overall picture of what is going to happen, it's just endless scrolling back and forth. If you have a look at how ChronoSync does it for example, it can also list huge amount of files but it's far easier to understand what's happening. I've been waiting years for this VV weakness to be addressed, and I'm sorry to say as a long time user, this separate folder navigator is really not the answer. Could you please just add functionality like you can see in ChronoSync into VV, even just start with integrating the folder navigator into the main viewer. I was so happy to hear that this was being addressed at last, but so disappointed to see the actual functionality. I deal with huge numbers of files, and found the folder navigator to be of very little help since it isn't integrated.

Thanks,
Mark.
