I have v2.5 installed on one machine as well as the folder snapshot extension. I recently installed v3.0 on another machine but when I tried to download the folder snapshot extension I received a message saying I had to have v2.5 installed to download.

You are saying that I should download the extension on the machine with the v2.5 installation, then install that on the machine with the 3.0. The snapshots created with the 2.5 folder extension will work with v3.0.
