Hi there

I do have the problem, that VV ist not archiving and it is not deleting files in target which are deleted in source. I just discovered the setting "No archive for deleted/replaced source files" in the view profile settings output but there is no setting where I can change this in the VV GUI. And I discovered the setting " Ignore any second difference" in the view profile settings output but I have ticked the Ignore up to 60 seconds ... - option in the Comparison section ?????

What is going wrong ?

Following scenariao:

Source:
- WINX machine with VV und Vengine latest versions.
- Target is mapped with WebDrive to source providing UNC-Path
- \\?\ used for all path names (source, target and archiv)
- Archiv-folder located on target machine

Target:
- remote Linux Server

Profile settings (Output of view profile settings):

Folders
- Source: "\\?\C:\"
- Target: "\\?\UNC\xxxx.xxxxx.xx\server\srv\xxxxxx\C\" (Encrypted) (Archived)
- Include Subfolders: Yes
- Create sources/targets that do not exist
- Exclude files: "desktop.ini"
- Exclude files: "\\?\C:\msdia80.dll"
- Exclude files: "*.log"
- Exclude files: "\\?\c:\Users\xxx xxx\NTUSER.DAT"
- Exclude system files
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\C:\DRIVERS\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\C:\inetpub\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\C:\PerfLogs\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\C:\Program Files\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\C:\Program Files (x86)\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\C:\Windows\"
- Exclude subfolders: "*temp*"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\C:\Intel\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\C:\Tools\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\C:\totalcmd\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\C:\Users\"
- Include subfolders: "\\?\C:\Users\xxx xxx\"
- Include subfolders: "\\?\C:\Users\Public\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\C:\ProgramData\"
- Exclude subfolders: "*cache*"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\c:\Users\xxx xxx\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\c:\Users\xxx xxx\AppData\Roaming\VVEngine\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\c:\Users\xxx xxx\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\c:\Users\xxx xxx\AppData\LocalLow\Mozilla\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\c:\Users\xxx xxx\AppData\Local\Mozilla\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\c:\Users\xxx xxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\?\c:\Users\xxx xxx\AppData\Local\Adobe\"
- Exclude system subfolders
Comparison
- Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
- Ignore any second difference
Execution
- Method: Synchronization (synchronize one-way only: source to target)
- No overwrite / read-only / error confirmations
- Tracking Database: "C:\ProgramData\ViceVersa PRO\xxxxxxx.tdb"
- Log File: "C:\ProgramData\ViceVersa PRO\xxxxxxx.log" (max 10000 KB)
- No archive for deleted/replaced source files
- Archive deleted/replaced target files to: "\\?\UNC\xxx.xxx.xx\server\srv\xxxxx\ViceVersa-Archiv\" (Encrypted)
- Smart archive
- Append Source/Target path to archive folder(s)
- Copy files even if timestamp changes after initial comparison
- Skip files that are in use by other applications
- Use 'Volume Shadow Copy' to copy open files for source

Any help is highly appreciated.

Regards Urmel

Hello, the archiving options are in profile settings -> archiving.
You are using :
Method: Synchronization (synchronize one-way only: source to target)
which only synchronizes one-way, not two-way.

I know that - that does not explain why

- deletions in source are not reflected in target
- settings in comparison section are not properly displayed in view profile settings
- and why no archive for deleted/replaced source files take place

can you send a screenshot to support showing the comparison of your source and target and the files that should be deleted ?

Also can you send a screenshot of this issue please?

I have pretty much the same problem. I'm only working with (2) source drives, E: and F: to target X: and Y; respectively. I expect that when a small file or folder is changed on E: (F:) that the file or folder will appear on X:(Y:) drive within a few minutes. This is not the case. Even on small files and folders after a few days the updates have not been made. I then have to use another software program to review/compare the current differential status between the source and target drives. This defeats the whole purpose of using CDP backup software.

What settings do I need to change to have 'reasonable' updates of the target drive? Like 5 minutes or less.

P.S. I'm only interested in one-way sync - source to target.
