Hi, I've running a trail version of vv for evaluaion purposes. I have two questions:

1. Is it possible to use drive names for removable media (like Flash drives) rather than drive letters? I found the info on UNC paths, but that doesn't seem to work.

2. Is it possible to have more than 1 instance of vvLauncher running? Or, better yet have vvLauncher select the profile based on the drive discovered?

Thanks

Never mind Question 2. Just found a post regarding this....

It's not possible. Would be nice if it were. Or, even better run a particular profile based on what drives are found.

What about q1 though?

Thanks.

I have an old USB Flash drive which I am able to assign a specific drive letter to using XP's Manage Drives (I use U, because it's high and will not get bumped by XP). So each time the drive is installed the drive letter remains the same, which vv likes.

I also, just got a new USB flash drive which has U3. This thumb drive seems to be having problems with assigning drive letters to it through XP. (It has 2 partitions on it by default: a read only with the U3 software; and a 'user data/program' area. The 2 seem to talk to eachother. I'm not sure - am still testing. I thought if I could get around it by using a drive name for vv that would be easier.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Sorry, if the drive does not get the correct drive letter, VV will not sync properly... I am not sure why your drive shows this behavior. Confused
