Just recently I keep getting an error recorded in my VVPro log: "Volume Shadow Copy creation failed for E:\. E_UNEXPECTED] Error." This also raises an error in windows 7 event viewer: VSS 8193 and VSS 22.
"Volume Shadow Copy Service error: A critical component required by the Volume Shadow Copy service is not registered. This might happened if an error occurred during Windows setup or during installation of a Shadow Copy provider. The error returned from CoCreateInstance on class with CLSID {e579ab5f-1cc4-44b4-bed9-de0991ff0623} and Name IVssCoordinatorEx2 is [0x80040154, Class not registered
].
Operation:
Instantiating VSS server
I am more than happy to send you a copy of the relevant log files if required. |

| Problem seems to be caused by the fact that the Volume Shadow Service although set to Automatic fails to start unless done manually. It was originally set to Manual but the problem still opccurred. |

| I did shut down down and start the VSS service back up. Still encounter the same error. |
