Why is there the option to buy one server license?

I'm curious why with the license prices, there is an option to buy just one, if one is needed for each server. Being as this is a back-up/replication/mirroring/sync product, it would need to be used with at a minimum, 2 servers. Is there something that I am not understanding, or is that pricing available for people who have bought X licenses and now require one more?

Hi, the single server license for people who require more licenses or for replicating / backing-up a single server to an external disk or NAS. thanks
