On one of our servers, I am receiving the following windows error message:
"Failed connecting to VVEngine." when trying to open VVEngine from the Windows System Task Bar.

When I try to open VVEngine Settings, I receive this error:
"Failed connecting to VVEngine - GetHTTPPort()"

Everything seems to be running though; files are definitely replicating. The log file shows nothing out of the ordinary either.

I think a server reboot will fix it, however I would like to know what the cause of this maybe so proper measures can be taken in case it occurs again or at least prevent it from happening again.

I can send it but just want to ensure my email does not get blocked again because of an attachment?

Hello, I just realized I sent you the wrong log files. Where exactly would I find the VVEngine.log file?

Thanks, I was able to find it but it only goes back to 12/03. Where would I be able to change the settings for VVEngine logs so that I can retain everything until I manually archive or remove it myself?

Hi, I think the max VVEngine log file size can't be changed unfortunately.... I'll check if there is an undocumented registry settings...

Without the VVEngine logs, I take it this can't be something we can troubleshoot? Please do let me know as we'd like to prevent or handle such errors accordingly should they occur in the future.

Without the log it's not possible to investigate what happened, but should it happen again, maybe the log will be large enough and contain info on the failure?

If there is a way to increase log file size max setting for the VVEngine.log file that would be great if it can be provided.

I'm having the same issue as reported in this thread. looks like they did a server reboot. is there any other info on the cause for this issue? I see this was back in 2012 so that was a very long time ago. I'm running v2.2 Server Premium (Build 2200) on a windows server 2008 R2 Standard SP1
