Keep getting this error on some files...

[The size, attributes or timestamp of "\\?\P:\xxx\yyy\zzz" have changed after comparison. For data security reasons this file will be skipped. Press 'Refresh' to recompare Source and Target.] Error.

no matter what I do I can't seem to get a complete backup. It's on Replication [update target].

Refreshing as it suggests does nothing.

any tips?

cheers,

tbk.

Hi,

in ViceVersa PRO, enable the option "Copy files even if timestamp changes after initial comparison": ViceVersa initially compares source(s) and target(s) and then starts copying/deleting files. If a file has changed its timestamp after the initial comparison, ViceVersa will skip this file because it needs to be re-checked. If you want to force ViceVersa to copy every file (e.g. you are performing a mirror backup of source to target) you should enable this option.

The option is in profile settings -> advanced settings

thanks

I am having the same issue with a backup job to an EMC file server. I have already tried all the settings suggested by TGRMN support with no change in the symptoms. This only happens on the EMC file server. All the other jobs running to Network Appliance file servers or standard Windows file servers run fine. Has anyone had similar problems with EMC file and attributes changing since comparison?

Hi, which version / build of ViceVersa PRO are you using? I think there were improvements made in one of the latest VV 2.5 build, thanks

I am using the latest version of ViceVersa, version 2.5 build 2511. I was working with Matt from TGRMN support, but he stopped responding to my emails, so I do not know if he is working on the issue or not. If I had some information about which attributes besides size and timestamp are used to determine if a file changed since comparison, then I would have a better chance of identifying why the EMC file server is the only one having the issue. Can you get that information for me about the attributes compared?
