Hi,

I use the ViceVersa to create a mirror copy of 1 NAS server NAS1 to a second NAS server NAS2.
I also set up the "Archiving" option to keep a track of files changes and allow end-users to quickly recover data.

All is wroking perfectly, but I thing that something could be improved.
Indeed in my case :

NAS1 is mount as X:\

NAS2 is mount as Y:\

I copy all from X:\ to Y:\NAS1
And I store the archines in Y:\NAS1.archive

So the Target and the Archives are on the same location.

And during the replication process, the first step is the creation of the archives, I remarks that it use the "copy" command like this

copy Y:\NAS1\foo.bar to Y:\NAS1.archive\foo.bar

and during the update operation it will do:

copy X:\foo.bar to Y:\NAS1\foo.bar

So perhasp it will save some times to firstly try to use a "rename" command during the "Create archives" phase, and if it fails use a "copy" command.

Thanks

Yes, we will implement this functionality in our next release (tentative January 06).
