Modal window behavior

I'd like to discuss the modal nature of the comparison window a bit.

Of course, what I mean is that when you initiate a sync operation, the sync window opens in a modal way, such that the comparison window is inactive. This has two undesirable effects: (1) it's impossible to interact with the comparison window (in case you want to review the effects of a sync while it is running), and (b) it's impossible to move or resize the comparison window (and, thus, the comparison window is locked into place for the entire duration of the sync... which can take days!)

So... is there a reason why VV opens the sync window over the comparison window with modal behavior? If not, may I ask for this to be changed to a modeless behavior?

Hi, yes, it's mainly a legacy design, but unfortunately it's not a trivial change, sorry!
