I know this opens a can of worms with regard to security of the source files, but there are times we would like to move a file rather than copy, i.e. after it has been copied delete it from the source. we can't see how this can be done in the existing version.

It can be done with two profiles: one profile backs up folder A to folder B, the other one backs up folder C (a dummy folder which contains with only one file in it) to folder A. The second profile will delete all files from A. The second profiles must be run after the first one and only if no errors were present in the first one.
However... yes, the 'move' function has been requested a lot, it's just we are uneasy to delete files from source ... Confused

Please let me agree with this feature request!

It is the only thing I am missing in VV, the 'simple' ability to move files.

In our case: we daily create backups of our SQL server database, we use VV to copy these to our central backup location. Afterwards I need to manually (or via a script) delete the source files once in a while... a move option would be perfect here!

you should not be 'uneasy' about such a clear feature... just make sure people understand what it does!
