Hello,

i´m very happy with ViceVersa/VVEngine (both Pro) but i have one problem.

i have two directories:

a) c:\source
b) c:\dest

I want to copy only once new files from a) to b) if new files arrive in a)

My guess was to use as execution method "Replication (Augment Target)" and "Schedule: Monitor source(s) and run when file changes are detected" in VVEngine.

If i use it this way there will be always copied any file from a) to b) if a new file arrives in a).

Any suggestions ?

Thanks, Adrian

Hello,

you are correct, the Replication (Augment) method will only copy new files to the target.

thanks

But in fact this doesn´t works for me. Replication (Augment) copies always all files from source to target and not only new fils.

I´m using the following test-setup:

Profile File: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\aherden\Eigene Dateien\ViceVersa PRO 2\test_lokal_src_dest.fsf

Folders
- Source: "C:\!!!source\"
- Target: "C:\!!!dest\"
- Include Subfolders: Yes
Comparison
- Comparison Type: Both (CRC calculated on entire file)
Execution
- Method: Replication (Augment Target)
- No archive for deleted/replaced source files
- No archive for deleted/replaced target files
- Copy file/folder permissions

What am i´m doing wrong ?

Thanks

When you compare source and target, what's shown on the ViceVersa file comparison window? Does it show matching files at all?
thanks

Hello,

i guess i found my problem. The Replication (Augment) works correct if the already copied files still exist in the destination.

My problem is that the already copied files will be deleted from the destination before the new files will arrive in the source.

Do you have any solution for this problem ?

Thanks, Adrian

Hello, if a file is removed from the target, ViceVersa will copy it back again ...

I know and this is exactly what it shouldn´t do Smile
Is there a way with ViceVersa that a file is only copied once (when it is new in the source) ?

Thank, Adrian

Hello

unfortunately not, it's not possible, ViceVersa will not copy the file to target only of the file is already there.

thanks
