Hello,

I'm running a daily backup of about 70.000 files on a Win2K server. Sometimes the latest status in VVscheduler keeps showing "Currently running" even if the backup was successful. The profile logfile ends with exit code 3: "Execution completed with some file copy/delete errors", which is due to some files being in use. No problem.
But still the status remains "currently running" which prevents the next scheduled backup to start.
any idea how to solve this ?

Skipper

I experience exactly the same problem with one of three scheduled daily backups. Also Pro build 2008.

The backup that keeps running is the largest one with appr 300 000 files compared (but only a few of them copied).

All three jobs are started at the same time and is set to wait for other running jobs.

Can you tell me how are you running ViceVersa, that is, which launch options are set for the VVScheduler task (/hiddenautoexec? /dialogautoexec?) thanks

/autoexec /autoclose /wait

And FYI: The two other jobs that correctly stops running are also getting some errors (exit code 3) and have the same parameters/options.

Hello

Does it always happen with that same job?
If yes, we can try to reproduce and debug this, I need to create a special ViceVersa version and send it to you.

Yes, it seems so.

Today I checked applications/processes running after the problem has occured. No VV application but there is a "ViceVersa.exe" process still running. I killed it and the scheduled task finished (with exit code 1 even if the VV backup has finished with code 3).

You can send me the debug version.

Temporarily I've "solved" the problem by setting "Stop the task if it runs for 12 hours...". The task is only running once a day and I know that it won't take as much as 12 hours. This setting means that the task is not running the next time it's scheduled, and it starts just fine.

But this is a quick-and-dirty fix. The problem in VV has to be solved.

Agree. Could you please test without the /wait flag? thanks

I tested withot the /wait flag on the task with the problem. The other two VV tasks, that starts at the same time, still had the flag.

Now all the tasks ended correctly.

I also tested without the /wait flag, but I still keep getting the "currently running" state. The other flags I use are /dialogautoexec and /autoclose.
The logfile closes normally with exit code 3: execution completed with some file copy/delete errors (open files).

Can you please post the last few lines from the log of a succesfully completed execution and one when it stays "currently running"? Does this happen all the times or is it intermittent?

thanks

Because I'm having exactly the same problem. I have 7 jobs running and 2 of them shows up as running all the time. I check the logs and they show that they are finished in 2 hours but VVScheduler never stops the job.

I really appreciate if someone can answer this question.

Thanks,
