As administrators, it would be nice to have a view-only login to the VVEngine web interface that we could give application developers or users so that they can see the log information in real-time but aren't able to make changes.

Hello
What info would you like to see / not-see on this read-only page?
I can try making a prototype page , e.g. readonly.htm which you could give to the developers.

Thanks, I am still in the eval phase of the product but it's a nice product.
What I was thinking about is a live webpage, same as what is available now, but without the ability to change things. Maybe remove the Action list and the "Change" link on the All Profile Settings, and removing the "Advanced" commands link. Basically removing anything that is "actionable" but leaving the "Last Runs" information and the "More Info" links that accompany that and the logs that are part of that hierarchy.
I know just removing links isn't security as the option would still be available via URL so it would require tying the type of login to the URL itself to achieve proper security. Might be a little extensive of a request but I think that additional level of access would be good to give developers a "view-only" account to see the runs and the settings without being able to change anything. |

Yes, the idea would be to create some read-only pages where no changes to the settings can be made. These pages would be accessible without a password if the administrator decides to make them available.

I use VVEngine to replicate Web Content out to our external websites hosted in our DMZ. What would be really nice is to have a User web interface and an admin interface. The admin interface gives good detail information that our developers/users need to check on the replication of their content or code. However, they don’t need to have the ability to do any of the following:
Add Profile
Enable All
Disable All
Run All (Together)
Run All (Sequentially)
Stop All
Stop Profile
Enable
Disable
Edit Schedule
Remove
Open in VV
Show Compare
Move Up
Move Down
Otherwise, it is a good product and for now is meeting our needs for instant replication of code and content out to our external web sites. |

It was great to see the new read only and run and stop only web pages. However, the ability to drill down into a profile and see listing of last runs, next runs, read only of the All Profile Settings, and read only access to the log files are just as important to the non-admin users as it is to the admin user.
It would be great to have those functions still available in the read only page and the run/stop page. |

I am getting an ActiveX error trying to send CDO.Message. No further explanation. The log shows the correct email addresses, the correct username & password and the correct SMTP. Is there a specific ActiveX option I need to enable?

If you are using ViceVersa PRO 2.5 or newer, use the native support for sending notification e-mails instead of the script, it's in profile settings -> advanced settings. _________________ --
