Hi,

1- the msgbox problem:
- the 'synchronize computer clock with atomic time servers' is a nice option.
- when it is on (my case), it displays a message box before closing the job -> OK must be clicked before the job is fully terminated.
- When jobs are scheduled (generaly at night) with the /autoclose switch, it prevents them from closing completely,
- if an other job has the /wait switch, it does not start untill I click OK (next morning), so the job runs while I work (OK, but not wanted : see below).

It would be nice to have an option allowing
- to synchronize each time
- NOT to display the msgbox.

2- auto display log at end of job :
As mentioned above, I run several jobs at night.
I have scheduled Windows to display the various logs at 7:00AM, before I show up.
I can then quickly glance at errors (with F4), if any, fix them or close the logs and get to work.
Could we simplify this by adding a separate option in the scheduler to open the log after a job is complete, using vvlogViewer ?

Thanx again for a great soft.

Etienne

Hello

1- the msgbox problem:

This looks to me like a bug, becuase with the /autoclose switch the profile should terminate properly without user intervention ....

2- auto display log at end of job :

OK

thanks for the feedback!

Hello

regarding point 2, you could get notified via e-mail of eventual errors. See http://www.tgrmn.com/web/kb/item67.htm

thanks

Thanx for this quick reply;

point n°1- should I ask the same question in the support forum ?
Have no idea why, but all my "/autoclose" scheduled tasks end with this Msgbox.
I click 2 every morning, which then starts the job with the /Wait option.
Am

point n°2- Will look at the script, but will keep the scheduled log for the moment, since it contains all details about OK copies + errors

We need to check if this is an issue with ViceVersa.
If you switch-off the time sync option do the tasks close properly?
thanks

So far, I noticed a strange problem:
- while a job was running (2 days ago), I opened VV
- turned time synch off
- closed
The job terminated later, still with the 'Computer clock synchronised' message.
All other jobs still showed the same message, yesterday and today.
Rather disturbing (though a minor issue)

------
I checked today : the option was ON.
Turned it off again, then checked it was really off (no job running).
Will be back in a day or 2, to report whether it now closes properly.

Thanks for checking this. I think the time sync option was not off the first time becuase the other job was still running.

So do I. which still appears weird, in the sense the running job seems to set that option again, when it terminates???
This is confirmed by new trial yesterday, where I had to check 3 times, after turning it off, and, 2ce, had to turn it off again...

Anyway, your first question: Yes, when the time synch option is off, the jobs end and follow each other normally. This morning, all jobs had ended, and all logs were displayed, containing the latest data. Cool

I will have to live without, hoping you can find an easy solution.

Thanx,

Etienne

Sorry to push without waiting for your reply, but

1- I would appreciate an answer : is this a known issue, to be solved asap?
I have tried to restore the clock sync setting: the messages appear again, and still block the autoclose. can't use it. Crying or Very sad

2- I realise that the same applies to synchronisation errors : they keep the interface open, even with /autoclose.
I would appreciate these errors to simply display in the log, afterwards.

If you are using the VVScheduler option /autoexec , it is normal to see all the dialogs ... if you want an automatic run without user's interactions in VVScheduler, use the task option /dialogautoexec (this one shows a single window but it does not stop for user's prompts) or /hiddenautoexec (this one runs ViceVersa 100% hidden and write all warnings to the log file) BTW all options write the output to the log file if a log file is enabled in the profile settings.

thanks

Seeing the dialogs is OK.
This is why I used the /autoexec : i want to know when it runs and the /dialogautoexec option is sometimes too discreet, hidden by other windows.

So, as far as I am concerned,
- I will try /dialogautoexec again...
-on my wish list, in the future, I would appreciate a /autoclose which means : no message box, no interaction, even with /autoexec.

Thanx anyway.

Try the option "No confirmations" in the VV profile settings: it is under profile settings -> execution. This option instructs ViceVersa to run without any confirmations, even with /autoexec.

The task scheduler flag /autoclose only refers to automatically closing ViceVersa at the end of a run.

thanks
