We've been running ViceVersa Pro for about a year to synch files between a Windows XP Workstation at a remote office and our Novell Netware 5.1 file server. It's been working pretty well and reliably, until recently. Lately, it has been stalling every day or two.

The job is running every 10 minutes under VVLauncher. It always seems to stall with the status in the lower left corner of VVLauncher showing "Running: Updating history database..."however the last part of the log file shows:
2005-08-01 14:34:39 : Cleaning archive copies ...
2005-08-01 14:34:39 : Recomparing files...
2005-08-01 14:34:39 : Updating history database...
2005-08-01 14:35:04 : ---- copying finished ----
2005-08-01 14:35:04 : ---- End synchronization ----
as is it completed OK.

I have to click on Stop, then Off, then On, then RunNow in VVScheduler to get it running again. Then it runs for anywhere from a few hours to a few days, then it stalls again.

Any suggestions?
Any more information or a place I can upload the job and log files?

The problem appears to have been that the job was running on the source machine from VVLauncher but an associate also loaded and was running the same job on the target machine in VVScheduler. I think that when both runs happened to (seeming randomly) hit the history dB at the same time, it errored.

In any case, the problem hasn't been seen since I deleted the superflouos job from VVScheduler.

ViceVersa PRO 2 will report a clearer error for this.
