I am considering purchasing this product. I am running Windows XP Pro on a desktop and laptop. I want to synchronize certain data folders on the two computers via a home network.

My question is this. Do I have to enable sharing on each folder that I will synchronize? From a security standpoint, this exposes my computers more.

Yes, you will need to share the folders you need to synchronize. But you can still limit access to these folders only to computers inside your network: the router firwall can do that for you and usually does that by default.
