hi folks, i'm doing backup to a NAS share that have a worm algorytm
if the modification date of a file il older than 2 days the file will be set as readonly.
the problem is that when VV is copying the file, apparentelly he set the modification date to feb 2 1982. this is causing the file to be worm hence VV can not modify attributes and then he raise an error. there is a way to workaround?

thanks

Hi, the date/time of feb 2 1982 is set by ViceVersa PRO as a fallback - if it can't change the timestamp of the copied file.

mmmm. so that the point. vv creating file with that timestamp. but is that timestamp that prevent vv to change the dates, since the storage is monitoring the modification date of every file and once the last modification date is older than 9 hours, he set the file as readonly. I don't see why if I select the windows native copy, vv should create the file with such dates. anyway there is any way to fix that?

so no way, even in as new feature, to disable this security (well which type of security) behaviour that only VV have? i've checked other similar software and no one is creating the new file wit fake timestamps, i still do not understant the meaning of creating a file with modification date (because the other timestamps are correct) with a different and so old date. i could understand that the modification date of a new created file is up to dated and the modified to reflect the source one, but could someone really explain me where is the advantage to have a modificaton date set to early 1982?

in other hands, is there any way to get refounded of the purchase fee?

Hi, this security feature is implemented because if the network or disk connection is lost while copying, then the file would be left on disk with current date. And that would create sync issues.

thanks for the info.
it is possible to introduce a modification (as exist for Folder setting) to avoid this?
so if someone want to keep the security setting can do it, otherwise the file is copied directly with the original timestamps
