Tracking DB conflict after deleting/re-saving same filename

We are running VVEngine 2.1 Build 2106 and ViceVersa Pro 2.5 64-bit Build 2518.

We are running a profile in Synchronization mode between two workstations that create/edit/access files, and the local library must be the same for both stations. After a deletion is performed on a file in the Source (ex. 15371537.lyr), the deletion is completed on the Target. Later on if the Target or Source creates a file with that same filename the tracking database identifies the new file as [CHANGED] and the conflicting file is [REMOVED].

Resetting the tracking database restores sync, but what may be causing the conflict? Log excerpt below:

Hello, I will check this and try to reproduce the issue, is VVEngine running in real-time, e.g. as soon as file changes are detected? thanks

Yes, VVEngine is set to run as soon as changes are detected on both Source and Target.

This issue is consistently a problem for our daily sync operations, are you able to reproduce?

Was there any resolution to this, we face the exact same issue albeit on an intermittent basis.

We have 2 servers with a one way synchronisation set to run on any file changes, if files are deleted and then a file with the same name is added a database conflict occurs and the newly added files are deleted again.

Deleting the sync database and rebuilding is the only way we have found to rectify the issue.

Hopefully the next build will resolve this issue for root folder items, not sure when it is expected to be available.

This is an issue that can happen if files are in the root folder. It has been fixed in version 2.6 which we plan to release before end of year. It has many new features like file moving, 4K display support, SHA-256 beside CRC etc.
