vvengine saves .xml, .db and other files in my local temp folder (\AppData\Local\Temp) and not in the \AppData\Roaming\VVEngine folder.
I normally use a non admin user. If i switch to an admin user, the files are saved in the normal place.
How can I correct this?
Thanks
Didier.

Hi, are you running VVEngine as a normal start-up program under a non-admin user? What version of Windows? thanks

Hi
I use windows 10 and vvengine 2.1 build 2016
vvengine starts up as a normal startup program
I made the user admin, did a vvengine uninstall, reboot and reinstalled the software and the files and settings are saved in the normal place (\AppData\Roaming\VVEngine). If I change the user back to a non-admin user, vvengine starts but points now to \AppData\Local\Temp
I don’t want to be an admin for normal usage, so how can I remedy this?
Thanks.
Didier

Hi, we can't reproduce this. We have a blank Win10 machine and logged in with outlook user but still the VVEngine files are saved in \AppData\Roaming\VVEngine

If you open File Explorer and type in the folder bar %appdata% where are you redirected to?

thanks

%appdata% = C:\Users\dpoll\AppData\Roaming

See my earlier post : the problem exist only if used with a non admin user, an outlook admin users works perfectly. I normally use non admin users as this is more secure.

Yes, we tested it with a non-admin user. Not sure why %appdata% gives the proper location and VVEngine not, since VVEngine uses %appdata%. Unless that location is not writable?

Hi, most likely the log file for VVEngine is not accessible / writable. Please check :

C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\VVEngine\VVEngine.log

make sure that this file is accessible and writable or VVEngine will switch to a different path for storing its db, xml, log etc.
