I just purchased 2.5 Pro and am attempting to copy my external seagate
3TB hard drives over to two brand new WD My Passport Ultra 3TB hard
drives.

Both have now frozen as soon as I start trying to copy my large Photo
directory.

Please help!

ViceVersa starts trying to copy and just freezes.

Thank you

Hi, that's strange, can you please try copying a few files manually. Does it freeze?

This does not appear to be a VV issue. Even trying to copy files
manually it freezes.

I get an error message when attempting to use Windows Explorer to copy. This is a brand new Win 10 Pro on a brand new Microsoft Surface
Pro 4. i7 processor, 16 gig ram. I'm not sure what to think.

The hard drives are currently connected via a Microsoft Dock for the
Pro...
I am NOT attempting to copy these across a network, just through the Pro
Dock. I will try to just connect one up directly and see if I can get
files to copy. The older external drives work great on my old USB 2 laptop.
But at glacier speed of course.

If I find a reason I'll let you know. If you have seen this error before
and can shed some light that would be fab.

Thanks again

Sorry, I haven't heard of this error before! Probably related to the Surface PRO hardware rather than the drives.

I can confirm it is a problem with the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 DOCK.
I purchased a new USB 3 powered hub and disconnected all usb devices from the surface dock and connected them to the powered hub. Everything works just fine.

MS is sending out a new Dock so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
