I have installed a USB Link cable between 2 computers that I want to synchronize some folders on. I can easily see the directories on the 2 computers on either computer using the software provided with the cable but do not know how to get VV to use this link. Is there a way?

First you will need to connect the two computers, then you can use ViceVersa to sync your files.
Have a look at this web page which contains info on how to connect two computers and the different ways to do that (including USB connection):

Do I need to have admin permissions to connect two computers for transfer or synchronization? I have a corporate network desktop (to which I do not have admin permissions) and a laptop with different username and account information than the desktop (to which I do have admin permissions). Can I install the software on the laptop, hook them up through the USB cable, and synchronize files and folders between them? We can now hook up USB thumbdrives and move files that way without any problems - will it work the same for downloading to a laptop connected through the USB function?
We could ask the corporate guys to come and install the program if required, but it might take months - we need a synch and replicate solution now... <grin - our boss is not the patient type - he just lost four years of research and emails through the corporate guys update of his computer - so he is not a big fan of theirs at the moment - an office solution would tickle him silly>. . .
Thanks for any help. . .

Until that time. . . aloha y'all . . . Earl J.

Yes, the USB connection will work, the only issue to consider is if the connection will interfere with the corporate network setup.

thanks for the quick response. . .
As I said, we've downloaded <manually - drag and drop> files from the desktop to thumbdrives on numerous occasions. . .
If VV does not need permission to access and copy files as they are pulled from the desktop to the laptop, everything should work smoothly.
We'll give it a try. . .

The question now becomes: are there multi-license versions or do we just purchase individual copies and install them that way. . . it would be nice to have one code for all of them in the event they have to be re-installed; it would be easy not to have to find the proper code for that specific machine. . . just a thought. . . <and perhaps a price break to boot?>...

Hi, if all the licenses are used by the same company, you can buy a multi-user license (with discount). See the buy page. A multi-user license comes with one code which can be deployed on multiple computers. thanks!
