|
|
We would like the Smart Archive to keep:
1 copy per day this week.
1 copy per friday this month.
1 copy per month forever.
in place of the default:
1 copy per 5min this hour.
1 copy per hour this day.
1 copy per day this month.
1 copy per month forever.
The default scheme is excellent for small data sets, but ours are 10-100GB and we can't keep that much storage online. |

| I second the request to allow for customizing the Smart Archive schedule. |

I agree either, customising the smart archive would be a nice feature!

To customize the smart archive feature and make it still simple to use maybe ViceVersa could have a list of options that can be set Yes/No. I mean:
1 copy per 5min this hour. (Yes/No) --> Always set to yes in current smart archive
1 copy per hour this day. (Yes/No) --> Always set to yes in current smart archive
1 copy per day this week. (Yes/No) --> New Option
1 copy per week this month. (Yes/No) --> New Option
1 copy per month forever. (Yes/No) --> Always set to yes in current smart archive
Remove the option 1 copy per day this month, replaced 1 copy per day this week.
What do you think? _________________ --

Well i dont know for rwagnon but i think its a really good idea to use switches (eg: on-off) for smart archive customisation.
Keep up good work Tgrmn!

BTW: is there a new version of vv pro2 planned soon? (newer than 2.0.0.9) |

Yes, build 2010 will be released soon. It will be a free upgrade and will contain a few bug fixes and some improvements in archiving, but it will not contain customization for smart archiving yet. _________________ --
