Hi,

I've just started with VV, but I've had experience with file synchronization programs over many years.

In VV2 Pro, if you exclude a folder, you can't seem to expand it.

A quick search of the forum didn't yield any answers...

The two concepts are orthogonal to me... Just because I don't want to include it, doesn't mean I don't want to view it.

In particular, I'm trying to use VV2 to get around the vicissitudes of Vista Backup (shudder). So I'm backing up my \Users\ folders, but I only want to save a small percentage. So I thought, I'll exclude everything and then include only the bits I need.

Couldn't figure out how to do it... Did I miss something or is the observed behaviour as intended?

TIA,
Paolo

Hello Paolo

That is correct, if you exclude a folder, ViceVersa will not scan it at all. This is mainly to increase scanning speed.

If you exclude a folder but then also add an include filter VV will only scan the included part...

thanks

I guess once the scan is made, then the folder is "closed".

However, if I explicitly click on the folder to expand it, VV2 should rescan that part...

I mean, until I force a rescan, the folder is still available to me...

Regardz,
Paolo
