I just installed Vice Versa Pro 2. Created my profile with the target pointing to a mapped network drive "Z:\Storage\Backup\Laptop\Brannigan\". I than used VVLauncher to schedule the profile. At first everything worked perfectly. Once I rebooted I keep getting target not found errors. It is driving me crazy. I tried not using a mapped drive but got the same. I used VVEngine and got the same. It only ever works after I load the prodile up manually. I can take the target path and paste it in the run dialog and it popups up no problem. I can use explorer to navigate to the mapped drive and no problem.

I am running Vista Ultimate on a Dell Inspiron 8600.

If I can sort this out I will buy the license.

Thanks,
Ken

Yes I have tried the UNC as well and have gotten the same error. It works perfectly on my XP machine to the same share. It must be something with the way the software works with Vista.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

I got the same problem here.

If you disable any guarding of changes / pinging etc. it works.

And yes I tried everything but it has to do with Vista and VVEnginge not working together!

This problem is not just related to Vista. I'm having the same darn problem! OS is Advanced Server 2000.

I can run the compare if I do it manually but using the schedule I get "Target Folder Not Fount".

Is there a fix anytime soon?

Hello

Did you try using the new network settings in the profile settings?

You can instruct VV to login the network. These settings are under:

Change Profile Settings->Folders->Network

thanks

I have everything set in the "Network" section. I tried using the first option to use default users credentials (which match each server). Backup didn't work.

I selected the second option. Set the path, username and password, tested network connection and vv said that is was connected. Tried the backup and here are the logs below that were generated when this job tried to run.

I've tried the UNC path and mapped drive path to no success.

09/04/2007 12:05:14 [236647.259-PID:1660] Profile running.
09/04/2007 12:05:15 [236647.634-PID:1660] Profile finished. Result "Target folder not found.". Exit Code: 14.
09/04/2007 12:05:15 [236647.634-PID:1660] * Disabled * Change detected to ViceVersa profile: manual reactivation required.

I've had this kind of problem when a trust relationship has not been establlished between the computer running VV and the computer where the target dir is located.

Such a relationship is established when you log in. I'm not sure if it is established if you only map a drive.

Note, that this is ony a possibility and may have nothing to do with this problem.
