Hello, we have recently installed your software in a school and have found we get the error mentioned in the subject.

I have checked the file and the Date modified is set to the year 1601, we are putting policies in place to stop this from happening in the future and to change the time on machines that are wrong but we would still like to be able to backup the work that has the wrong year.

Hi, unfortunately it is not possible to copy those files: VV will not copy files with incorrect timestamps because it does not know what timestamp to apply to the target.

Thanks very much, in your expirence what causes this error? Is there away to check that these files exist before we start our backup? or is there a way to apply a generic date to all these files?

Thanks for all your help.

You should be able to run a VV profile comparison which only includes files before a certain date (using file filters).

You could use this tool http://www.irnis.net/soft/xtst/ to change the files once they are identified....

thanks
