VVEngine user interface problem

Many times, maybe 70% of the time, when starting VVEgngine 1.1, I just get the Internet Explorer window hanging with the mesage "connecting..."
I have to close, restart again. Sometimes several times. Sometimes I need to restart the computer.
Any solution to this?

BTW, I'm not a big fan of this HTML based UI.
