Copy Problems

I am having trouble with a number of files during the sych, ViceVersa giving the following message -

"Can not change attributes of <target path & file name here>. The system cannot find the path specified."

This occurs if the directory exists or not, and the directory should be created if it doesn't exist. I also tried creating a new, empty target directory that should have been "mirrored" by the process.

I am copying from a Vista Business edition laptop to an XP w/ service pack 2 desktop at home.

Just a guess - the files that are affected seem to be from the last couple of months, and I suspect may all be files created after I enabled the "versions" feature on the drive. Would this cause any problems when copying to an XP system? It seams that it has something to do with the file attributes.

What type of drive is the target ? It looks like it is not supporting certain file attributes. If you write to support@tgrmn.com we can send you a special VV version to further debug this. thanks

I have tried this to two different drives, both are HPFS on newer systems (1-2 years old). Is that the info you are looking for?

Hi , by HPFS do you mean the drive are formatted with the High Performance File System ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Performance_File_System

Only some files. It seems that they are all recent files, and possibly modified or created after I enabled the "versions" feature on the logical drive I am copying from. The "versions" feature being the one that is included with Vista Business that allows you to revert to previous versions of a file.

A new twist -

I have been successful using the program copying to an external USB drive, formated FAT 32. The other attempts have all been across a network connection to NTFS drives on XP computers. I am copying from a new Vista system formated NTFS. Does this indicate anything to anyone?
