When using timestamp comparisons, Viceversa pro2 seems to be comparing the created file dates instead of modified file dates. I have tried to sync a file, using timestamp comparisons, and have lost about a week's work since the comparison is by created file dates. Shouldn't this be by modified file dates? There doesn't seem to be a choice in the profile settings to change this.

Hi, ViceVersa PRO 2 uses the modified date, not the created date to compare files. The only time it may use the created date is when a file failed copying, in which case the created and modified date are set to a specific date in 1982. _________________ --

Is the date Feb 1, 1982? Why does it use this date on all subsequent file comparisons? Does the error occur before the file is transferred during the comparison? Is this feature documented anywhere?

Yes, it is used to identify files that were not properly copied during the last run.

During file tranfer.

It is not documented. I recommend that you download the latest ViceVersa PRO build 2014 and then re-copy files over files which are marked with the 1982 timestamp. thank you _________________ --

Well, I cannot copy over the file because, the file VVpro changed to the 1982 date was the source file...a rather large Outlook PST file. I cannot easily reset this particular file attribute (Creation Date) without copying it a couple of times or writing something in C... I wish VVpro wouldn't mess with the source file file attributes.

Please try with this free utility, it will change the timestamps of all the files in a folder to a value you want: irnis.net/soft/xtst/
You can then change the created timestamp to a different value. thanks! _________________ --
