besides my stock backup jobs, the 90% of what I use VVP for is to save peoples personal data from failed pc's/crapware bloated pc's that aren't worth recovering/wipe the drive and move forward.

the way I do it is, remove the drive, drop it in a USB external box, copy all the files, and pare away at the data, then burn a disc of the owners photos, docs, and movies.....

it would be nice if the filter could be not *.jpg but photos, videos, music and "documents" and based on the PC's registered file types

if I could say, "copy all photos" over 2k, rather than copy all jpg, tiff, png, psd, gif it would be a nice option....

This is a very good idea, thanks! Smile I have added this item to the list of new features to be considered for future releases.

I use VV to copy data from user drives much in the same way, but I want to exclude specific types. It works great up to 250. I must be more discriminating unfortunately; I won’t be able to select files to keep based on registered types. In my case I know all of the files that I want to exclude the rest I want to keep. Therefore allowing more than 250 filters would be extremely useful. Currently I either have to write a deleted script to clean up a copy project or run VV twice and copy all of the data again with the last half of the filter. Any ideas on a different work around?

you can * the extension also.
you might be able to then merge some extensions.

jpg jpeg could be *.jp*

tifF and tiff you could make it all *.tif*

autodesk dwg&dwf you could do as *.dw*

if you are close, this could put you inside the limit.
