We'd like to be able to have some software check for last date of sync (in our case, using the Backup method) and compare that with some record of the last date of sync on a person's laptop--as opposed to doing a full Compare function. If the dates differ, some kind of icon would appear in their tray or flash on their screen to alert them.

That's the desire anyway. I'm pretty sure V-V by itself does not provide this. But I wonder if some add-on or shareware app might accomplish something like this. Anyone have any experience trying to make this happen?

Thanks for any ideas.

Would running ViceVersa PRO every 30 min only if changes are detected work? You can do that with VVEngine: http://www.tgrmn.com/web/vvengine/vvengine.htm

This is not exactly what I've been asked for. I guess the bottom line is that in order to find out if anything has changed -- by whatever method -- you have to connect to the source and perform *some* kind of check.

Hi - yes, I suggested to monitor the source folder because if a change happens than you know a sync is needed.
