One of the most obvious applications for skipping file size over ### bytes is when you are backing up files on an NTFS partition to a FAT32 external drive. FAT32 can't handle files over 4gb (i think that's the limit). Right now the program will spend time copying it until it reaches the partition's limit then generate an error.
THe FILE SIZE filter will not allow you to enter a number that represents the 4,294,967,296 byte limit. It converts it to a negative value.
So the Wish List is one of the following...
- provide a check box to skip files that exceed the FAT32 size limits of the destination drive (and prehaps offer other check boxes for other known size limits)
- automatically filter sizes when vice versa can identify the limits of the source/destination because they are locally connected to the OS
- expand the data-size of the spinner box to allow for extralarge integers, such as 4294967296 |
